Salva Calvet is associate professor and deputy head of the Institute of Animal Science and Technology of the Universitat Politècnica de València. His research focuses on livestock and environment. He studies the impact of livestock on the environment (particularly atmospheric emissions) and the environmental control of livestock houses. He has been principal researcher in two competitive projects funded by the Spanish government and has participated in three more.
Additionally, he has taken part in several research contracts with different companies and has participated in the EU Project OptiBarn. He has published about 40 research articles in indexed journals and takes part regularly in national and international conferences in his scope, with over a hundred contributions in the last twelve years. He has supervised four PhD theses and participated as a reviewer for different journals. He is the coordinator of the REMEDIA Network, a scientific association to mitigate climate change in the agroforestry sector. He has collaborated with researchers in the main research institutes on livestock and the environment.
